Our story begins in 2013, when we got to know each other through mutual friends. On our first date, we met for the first time in person at the good old Galaxy Cineplex in Cornwall and watched the 2013 comedy classic ‘’We’re The Millers’’. We then made our way to Mcdonalds for a romantic post-movie snack. Gab made a great first impression by locking his keys in his old Honda Civic and had to crawl through the trunk to unlock the doors. Over the next couple years, Gab would drive from Casselman to Cornwall to come see Sophie until we both graduated high school and attended each other's proms.

The following 6 years, Gab attended Carleton University to study mechanical engineering and Sophie, University of Ottawa, to pursue her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. Together, we were able to adapt to the changes and difficulties of transitioning from high school kids living at our parent’s house to young adults living on our own. In 2017, we got our first apartment in downtown Ottawa and officially lived together for the first time. During this time we accomplished a lot together. We finished our studies, got our first jobs, bought our first cars and travelled as we looked forward to our next chapter. 

Fast forward to 2023, when we purchased our first home in the small town of Chesterville. That summer, we traveled overseas together for the first time to visit Ireland. Later that year, we celebrated our first christmas together in our new home. Since then, we have loved to host many gatherings with friends and family. 

After months (even years) of anticipation on Sophie’s end, in March of 2024, Gab proposed by recreating our first date in Cornwall. We then got right into wedding planning mode as we started visiting venues, contacting vendors and Sophie’s favourite part, of course, shopping for her dream wedding dress.
